Evangelism
Christian evangelism is reaching out in different ways to spread the message of salvation through Jesus Christ.
Living out life in a way that honors God and shows His love to others is vital.
Sharing the Gospel is something that might not require preaching to someone from the Bible but rather, with one's actions.
Living life so that people see Christ is what God intends.
Evangelizing has different names and forms. Biblical evangelism and Christian evangelism are just two different names conveying the same purpose, to point others toward the Lord. Those who have a heart for evangelizing don't hide the truth about God's Word. They say what the Lord puts on their hearts, even if it's uncomfortable for others to hear. They might use certain tools to convey their message about Jesus. Some people share the Gospel in a tactful manner and sometimes, others do not. This can cause a rift between people if evangelizing is not done in a tactful way. If a Christian goes to a friend and starts preaching to them about fire and brimstone, most likely that friend is going to get turned off of the Gospel. However, if a believer approaches that friend with the Truth that is lived out in love, then the friend might be more open to hearing what the Christian has to say about God.
Love is the most important tool when it comes to sharing the Gospel.
However, words that love yet still convey the truth about the message of Christ might encourage people to do more listening. God is the One who works on people's hearts through Biblical evangelism. He is the One that can soften them toward Himself.
Christian must remember to live life in a way that so honors the Lord, using evangelizing as a means to show God's love to others. Biblical evangelism can take on many forms, but the most important technique is living in a Christ like manner. Believers need to let that gentle spirit that the Lord has given them spoken volumes to those who notice something different in them.
"Jesus saith unto him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me'" (John 14:6).
Evangelism with Strategy?
Study of church history and Missiology demonstrates many strategies which God has used for effective communication. Some would not work today. Others only work in a particular culture. Strategies and 'methods' are not substitutes for proclaiming the full biblical Gospel using the wisdom and inspiration of the Holy Spirit, backed up by believing prayer. Missions have also helped us to see the importance of understanding the culture of a target group, and presenting the Gospel in the context of that culture, Understanding the culture and mindset of those even in our own country is essential if we are to reach them.
There is only one Gospel. It is unique, powerful, and (in the popular sense of that term) 'incredible' - for it can be understood by a young child with learning difficulties, yet be intellectually satisfying to the cleverest professor. No other philosophy or belief system can do that. However, our presentation of the Gospel should not be 'one size fits all'. Just as we would present the Gospel in different terms to children and students, so we must tailor our presentation to the needs and culture of every other group also. There are many creative’s ways of sharing the good news.
We can biblically present the Gospel by taking people's felt needs as a starting point
Amazing Festivals
Amazing festival is one mass media evangelism of JMC ministries. Aim is to reach out the nations for Jesus Christ. We are focusing on village, town, city, capital, metropolitan city to spread the everlasting gospel of truth to people.
Mass Evangelism
The preaching of the message in open-air meetings or in very large gatherings. Mass evangelism reaches large numbers of people at a time when there has been extensive prior preparation, as occurred in the New Testament among the Jews and later following periods of dead orthodoxy.
However, it is very important to examine the types of evangelism in relation to the Great Commission of Christ. Though the types of effort have various strengths and weaknesses, both separately and in combination, their potential in carrying out the Great Commission is the most important factor of all in evaluating them. After all, the Great Commission is the main task of the church, and the main reason for the church’s other functions.
In any case, the church has the responsibility of evangelism and so must be concerned for the proper execution of it, which is the goal of heralding the Gospel to "every creature" (Mark 16:15). The expression "every creature" is rightly translated "the whole creation." But this can only be understood to mean "every individual person.
Personal Evangelism
Christians are directly involved in presenting the message to those who have not heard it. This occurred in the New Testament following persecution in Jerusalem. The disciples, except for the apostles, were scattered and evangelized everywhere throughout the land. In recent times, many have been encouraged to go out individually to "win souls," and a number of churches have concentrated on personal evangelism in connection with visitation, contacting and talking to people in their homes.
Personal evangelism has the advantage of being direct and personal, with the potential of meeting the individual needs of the person who hears the message, and it reaches out to those who would never go to a meeting to hear it.
The disadvantage is that the preparation of individual Christians is often limited and the message is not however,

Evangelistic Preaching
Evangelistic preaching applies the Word of God to those whose background causes them to attend church services. In Reformation times, when people were required to attend church services, there was an opportunity to reach large numbers of people in this way. But as people became hardened to preaching this became less effective. To overcome this the Puritans preached on matters affecting the conscience.
Later, effort was directed toward concentrated evangelistic crusades. How then, do the different types and combinations, of evangelistic efforts meet the requirement of reaching every individual person? First, it ought to be recognized that many of the efforts require much advertizing in this age. The emphasis in the appeal is almost always on things rather than on Christ, and this ought to suggest a fault from the start.
It does not "herald" or announce Christ, but an evangelist, a speaker, entertainment, a church program, friendship, or something attractive to the natural man. The result in the case of church related efforts is that some may be encouraged to come into the church without being changed through the regenerating work of God.
The further result is a pervasive deadness in the church — churchianity instead of Christianity. In other words, the church and Christians should be careful, by all means, to make clear to people that the object of primary concern is their relationship to Christ. Until this is clear, preaching will not communicate the Gospel as it ought.
Literature Evangelism
One of the best ways to "Touch Every 1 for Jesus" is with our literature! The Lord has instituted a plan whereby every church member can have some part in ministering to others by selling or giving away literature prepared by our Church's publishing houses. With encouragement, people will read and consider things that they would otherwise disregard. The impersonal character of literature is of value in these eases.
In addition. It is of value where there is a lack of trained witnesses or in conjunction with other efforts. The possibility of a full explanation of the message through literature opens up another avenue for those who will read it.
Literature Evangelist—this title is given to a person who dedicates time to taking from home to home truth-filled literature to sell, leave on donation or give as free literature. However, money is not their main focus. They are also to pray with the individuals, offer them personal Bible studies, or open the Bible right there if that opportunity arises. Literature evangelists are soulsmen, not salesmen. They find people who are searching for truth and bring it to them, but they also make a connection with that individual that another church member could follow up on.
The Bible truth that is printed covers many key areas of the Christian life for young and old, such as the moral, spiritual, and physical aspects of character building. Through the books The Great Controversy, Daniel and Revelation, Christ’s Object Lessons, Ministry of Healing, Bible Stories, Bible Reference Library, etc., literature evangelism was to be "broad and extensive" and very far reaching.
Tracts Evangelism
There is an old story of how a diver saw a piece of paper clutched in the mouth of an oyster. The man grabbed it, found that it was a gospel tract and said, "I can't hold out any longer. His mercy is so great that He has caused His Word to follow me even to the bottom of the ocean." God used a tract to save the man. Why should a Christian use tracts? Simply because God uses them. He used a tract to save the great missionary Hudson Taylor, as well as many, many others. That fact alone should be enough incentive for a Christian to always use tracts to reach the lost, but there are even more reasons why we should use them.
Here are a few:
- Tracts can make an opening for us to share our faith. We can watch people's reaction as we give them a tract, and see if they are open to listen to spiritual things.
- They can do the witnessing for us. If we are too timid to speak to someone about the things of God, we can at least give them a tract, or leave it lying around so that someone will pick it up.
- They speak to the person when they are ready--i.e. they don't read it until they want to.
Church Evangelistic Crusades
By holding a series of evangelistic meetings within a short period of time, the impact and content of Gospel preaching can be concentrated and have its effect. Crusades in which this is done have become tradition.
An evangelist from outside the church and great amounts of preparation and publicity are involved. This type of evangelism is effective when there has been considerable preparation through the instruction of the church, but where the people have become hardened to the preaching or else the Gospel has not been preached clearly.
Evangelistic Counseling
For those who have come under conviction during evangelistic preaching in a mass meeting, or during an evangelistic crusade, further encouragement by a Christian through a personal witness and counseling has often brought individuals to the place of response.
This is not to be confused with personal evangelism. Its limitation is that it is always an adjunct to other types of evangelism. Yet the personal character of evangelistic counseling complements in a helpful way the less direct nature of preaching. Movies can also be used for therapy for various emotional issues. They can open up dialogue and be therapeutic--helping people see root issues, themselves, or others in a new light. Use our unique, topical list in our Movies for Therapy site

Sunday school Evangelism
By enlisting children in Sunday Schools and Bible Schools and teaching them the Word of God it is found that many of them turn to Christ. It is reported that from 1 out of 3 to 1 out of 5 respond out of those who have been enlisted. The success has led to this being extended to adults. Sunday school evangelism potentially provides for an extended presentation of the truth and the possibility of answering individual questions in relation to it.
The difficulties include finding enough qualified teachers to reach lost people in a teaching situation in which a considerable amount of the time ought to be spent training Christians in things that are of no interest to non-Christians. Furthermore, over 90% of those contacted cannot be enlisted, and 60-80% of those enlisted do not respond.
Evangelistic Bible Study
Many who have had little church background can be approached in such a way that they become curious concerning the Bible and Christianity. Through personal contact and friendship, they can become engaged in an inductive study of the Bible, especially if in a home or out-of-church situation. The advantage is that they can be brought to see the message from the Bible itself, if the study is directed properly toward that end.
This directing of the study is probably the most difficult part of this type of effort.By designing specific programs of study for inquirers, material can be made available to a group of people having the same specific needs. The advantage is that a number of people can be reached with the possibility of answering their particular questions through the use of one teacher. The disadvantage is that such groups must be set up with those who look upon themselves as inquirers, which limits the number of people who will become involved. However, it is very important to examine the types of evangelism in relation to the Great Commission of Christ.
